September - Green Creek Road
The area around Dunderberg Meadows and Green Creek Road is one of my favorite places to explore. The views are incredible and there are many places to park, relax, and have a picnic.
It was fall and the Aspen colors were out in force. I had great success in capturing color in Lee Vining Canyon. Virginia Lakes was past its peak. I decided to take Dunderberg Road to Green Creek Road. Not only were the colors abundant, but the sky was full of these wonderful puffy cumulous clouds.
I love the composition of this scene. The Aspens and Mountains frame the clouds perfectly. It just creates this sense of nature’s grandeur that only happens occasionally.
I also found a new picnic spot that is next to the creek. It is secluded but has a large open spot to throw the ball for Tioga. I cannot wait to take all my Photographer’s Assistants there.
The day was not complete, however. We continued to Upper Meadows Road. You will have to wait until next month for that story.
