October - Upper Meadows Road
On the same day I explored Dunderberg and Green Creek we went up Upper Meadows Road.
There is one spot where you drop down into this canyon. There were bright colors all up the mountain side. You got this feeling like Moses must have felt when he first saw the land of Milk and Honey.
There were these two clusters of Aspens in full color. One was up close on the left; the other was farther way on the right. The combination of the two groups of Aspens takes your eye through the image into the mountains and then into the clouds.
I was adventurous and took my two-wheel drive Tahoe way up the road. I did not go all the way. The Tahoe did not like the last stretch that was steep with some deep ruts. We got up but decided to declare victory and go no further. It turned out that was the correct decision. A 4-Wheel Jeep had been further up the road. When I parked, they were coming back down. They said the road got rocky and rough, so they turned around
It was worth it though. At the top of the steep incline was this beautiful meadow that the pups enjoyed exploring.
